Post Care

Chemical Peels

alert

Your provider may have included boosters to address specific concerns such as acne, pigmentation, or texture. If this applies to your treatment, you will receive additional instructions—please follow those guidelines if they differ from the ones below. If you are unsure, contact us for clarification.

Peeling reactions vary based on skin type, application method, and individual factors. Even if visible peeling is minimal, cellular exfoliation is still taking place and will benefit your skin.

Please contact us if you experience:

  • Blistering or skin that appears broken, oozing, or weeping
  • Severe or spreading redness beyond the treated area
  • Swelling that worsens instead of improves, especially around the eyes or lips
  • Signs of infection, such as:
    – Drainage that resembles pus
    – Increasing warmth or tenderness after Day 2
    – Fever
  • Rash or hives, particularly if accompanied by itching or swelling

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at (610) 393-1253.
If it is after hours, leave a message and we will follow up within 24 hours.
If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911.

Until Fully Healed

To support proper healing and protect your results, please avoid the following until all peeling, dryness, and sensitivity have fully resolved:

  • Do not rub, pick, or pull at peeling or sloughing skin—even light flaking
  • Do not shave the treated area, as this can cause irritation or disrupt healing
  • Avoid all exfoliants, including scrubs, masks, AHAs, BHAs, and retinoids
  • Avoid waxing, laser treatments, or any resurfacing procedures in the treated area
  • Do not use loofahs, washcloths, cleansing brushes, or any mechanical exfoliation tools
  • Avoid sweating, hot tubs, saunas, and swimming until the skin is fully healed
  • Avoid all scented lotions, soaps, and products, as fragrance can irritate healing skin
  • Avoid makeup until the peeling process is complete and skin is intact
  • Continue to apply Mineral Perfection SPF 30 daily and reapply every 2 hours during any sun exposure, even after visible peeling ends

Please read these instructions carefully to ensure nothing is missed. Proper post-care not only minimizes the risk of complications and speeds up healing—it also helps achieve the best possible results.)
