Bruising/Swelling

POST-CARE POLICIES

For 24 Hours

  • Avoid lying down or bending forward with your head down for at least 3 hours after treatment. (If needed, squat instead of bending at the waist.)
  • Do not wear hats, headbands, or anything that puts pressure on the treated areas.
  • Avoid makeup for the first 24 hours. The only exception is Oxygenetix, which is specifically formulated for post-procedure use and is available in our office.
  • Avoid alcohol.
  • Avoid sunlight.
  • If you experience bruising at the injection site, apply ice in 10-minute intervals (10 minutes on, 10 minutes off). Always use a clean cloth or barrier — do not apply ice directly to the skin.

For 5 Days

  • Sleep with your head elevated, if tolerated. This helps reduce overnight swelling.

For 2 Weeks

Avoid the following to prevent disruption of the treated areas:

  • Facials or facial massage
  • Exfoliating treatments or tools (including Clarisonic devices)
  • Rubbing or massaging the area at injection sites
  • Lash or brow services (tinting, lifting, extensions, etc.)
  • Other cosmetic treatments to the area

Until Bruising & Swelling Have Resolved

  • Avoid tanning and prolonged sun exposure, as this can increase the risk of hyperpigmentation.
  • Continue to avoid exercise until bruising has fully healed, as increased circulation may prolong recovery time.
Please review these instructions carefully so nothing is missed. Proper post-care reduces the risk of complications and supports better, longer-lasting results.
