Special Events

Please avoid scheduling important events within four weeks of your appointment. Swelling and bruising can last up to 1–2 weeks, and it may take up to a full month for tissue to settle completely.

Healthcare Setting

If you work in a healthcare setting that requires an N95 or similar tight-fitting mask, please be aware that wearing these masks is not recommended for 2 weeks following filler treatment to the under-eye, cheek, nose, or jawline areas. If this will be unavoidable, we recommend rescheduling your appointment to ensure optimal healing and results.rescheduling.

PRE-CARE POLICIES

Before Appointment

Stay well-hydrated. Fillers attract and hold water within the skin, and dehydration can significantly diminish your results. Aim to drink water consistently throughout the day to support optimal outcomes.

Before Appointment

To help minimize bruising and swelling, begin avoiding blood-thinning medications, foods, and supplements—unless prescribed for a medical condition.

Common blood-thinning items to avoid include:

  • Advil, Ibuprofen, and Motrin
  • Almonds and almond milk
  • Fish oil
  • Garlic and ginger
  • Green tea
  • Salmon and sushi
  • Workout supplements and other nutritional supplements

If you regularly use pain relievers, Tylenol (acetaminophen) is safe to use, as it does not thin the blood. Always consult your physician before making changes, and avoid Tylenol if it is contraindicated with your medical history or current medications.

Before Appointment

  • Avoid alcohol, as it can increase the risk of bruising.
  • Begin taking Arnica to help minimize bruising and swelling—unless you are allergic or it is contraindicated with any of your medications or medical conditions (including high blood pressure).
  • Arnica is available in our office, at Vitamin Shoppe, or on Amazon. Please follow the dosage instructions on the label, and consult your provider or physician if you are unsure whether it’s appropriate for you.

Injections From Another Practice

In some cases, we may recommend dissolving previous filler if we believe it would compromise the quality of your results. This ensures we can achieve outcomes that meet our standards of precision and balance.

  • Dissolving is billed at $150 per vial and may require one or more sessions.
  • Sessions are typically spaced two weeks apart, with follow-up appointments scheduled as soon as availability allows.
  • New filler cannot be injected into the same area on the same day as dissolving and must be booked separately.
  • If you are traveling from out of town, please plan accordingly.
  • Please prepare for a dissolving session if you are planning to have lip injections and follow the Pre-Care Policies for best results.
